WHAT: Rock Camp SLC (RCSLC) is a summer day camp for girls, transgender, and gender-expansive youth from all backgrounds ages 8-17. During the week-long day camp, youth of all skill levels will learn to play an instrument, form a band, write a song, and perform their original composition for family, friends, and hundreds of screaming fans!

OUR PURPOSE:  We believe that “I Rock” is more than just a slogan, it’s an opportunity to create community where youth support each other rather than tear each other down. It’s an environment that fosters self-confidence, creativity and teamwork. All while empowering youth to recognize, understand, and respond to discrimination. WE do this because:

  • We believe that marginalized voices matter!

  • We believe that marginalized youth’s talents should be encouraged through artistic instruction, creation and collaboration.

  • We believe that friendship among girls, transgender, and gender-expansive youth is fueled by sharing ideas, collaboration and creation!

  • We believe that marginalized genders deserve positive mentorship from other women, transgender, and gender-expansive adults.

  • We believe that marginalized youth must be empowered.
